The Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club
District 5260
Welcome to the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club.  We were founded in 1960,
with our first meeting being held on May 31, under the leadership of Bud Keysor.
The motto of Rotary is "Service Above Self". Our Club takes "Service Above
Self" seriously. We actively support a variety of club, community, international,
vocational, and youth service projects.

Rotary is a humanitarian service organization and we are focused on fulfilling
community needs at both the local and international community levels. Our
programs are far-reaching and encompass a wide variety of local concerns as
well as international issues such as hunger, health, and education.

The Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club has a 501 c 3 Foundation; the Newhall
Rotary Community Foundation.  Each year the Foundation provides financial
support to a number of local charities; this year our club will be giving donations
to SCV Committee on Aging (Senior Center), LARC Ranch, Campus after Dark,
Michael Hoefflin Foundation, Children's Dental Health, Safe Rides, COC
Greer-Passick Scholarship, SCV Youth Project, Carousel Ranch, and Brenda
Mehling Cancer Fund. To enable the Foundation to provide financial assistance
to these local organizations the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club conducts
various fundraising projects throughout the year.

This year the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club is selling tiles in our
"Rotary Garden", which is located at the City of Santa Clarita's Sports
Complex/Aquatics Center. These tiles can be purchased by individuals,
families, companies, groups of friends, or by anyone who is wanting to
financially contribute to our local charities.  For more informaiton about
the Rotary tiles please send an email to
info@scvrotaryclub.com. A
member of the SCV Rotary Club will contact you with more information.

Rotary International is an association of individual clubs with each club operating
autonomously. Membership is extremely important to us and we are always
eager to hear from individuals who are interested in our mission and in joining a
Rotary club. Our universal premise is that the membership of each club
constitutes an accurate reflection or representation of the business and
professional population within the community served. Membership in a Rotary
club requires available business or professional classification opportunities, as
well as an invitation and sponsorship by a member of the club. Thus, sometimes
an individual cannot be invited or sponsored for membership.

Our club meets Wednesday's at 12:10pm at Marie Callender's Restaurant,
located at 27630 The Old Road, just off Magic Mountain Parkway and Interstate
5.  Join us for a meeting, help with a project, support our Foundation; you are
always welcome at the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club!
